Key Metal Detection Technologies
The World's Best Metal Detection Technology
With over 30 years of experience, Minelab provides The World' s Best Metal Detection Technologies, creating products with premium quality standards so that the detector can benefit you to the maximum.
Minelab technology was initiated and developed by an innovative genius in the field of physics, named Bruce CandyHe has researched and developed metal detection technology for 30 years and has issued more patents related to metal detection technology than anyone else. These key technologies are what enable you to successfully find gold.
Quality and innovation require research. Without research, technology stagnates and cannot develop. That's why Minelab has the largest and most active research team. The team consists of 30 scientists, engineers, and technicians committed to producing the next generation of detectors. In addition to the research team, there are several metal detection expert teams, such as: Phasetechnical And Promining which provides input from the field and tests each detector intensively.

Multi IQ

Simultaneous Multi-Frequency Multi-IQ
Low-frequency detectors generally achieve greater depth on large targets than high-frequency metal detectors. However, high-frequency detectors are usually more sensitive to small targets such as fine gold particles. With EQUINOX, you can use the full frequency spectrum simultaneously for maximum performance. You no longer need to choose between the advantages and limitations of low and high frequencies. *20 kHz and 40 kHz are not available as individual operating frequencies on the EQUINOX 600. The Multi-IQ frequency range shown applies to the EQUINOX 600 and 800. Actual sensitivity depends on the target type and size, ground conditions, and detector settings. The EQUINOX 600 offers Multi-IQ mode (all frequencies) or three individual frequencies (5, 10, and 15 kHz). The EQUINOX 800 offers Multi-IQ mode (all frequencies) or five individual frequencies (5, 10, 15, 20, and 40 kHz). Both models can detect a much wider range of targets in Multi-IQ mode than when using a single frequency. However, if excessive ground noise occurs at a particular site, switching to an individual frequency may help reduce the interference.

5F×8
USED IN SERIES EQUINOX 800

Five Frequency Times Eight, [Five Frequency Times Eight]
5F×8 provides five selectable frequencies: 5, 10, 15, 20 and 40 kHz. Lower frequencies favour larger targets; higher frequencies improve sensitivity to small targets and fine gold.

3Fx3
USED IN SERIES EQUINOX 600

Three Frequencies Time Three, [Three Frequencies Times Three]
3F×3 provides three selectable single frequencies in one metal detector. The EQUINOX 600 offers 5, 10 and 15 kHz operation for different target sizes and ground conditions.

Models > >
Multi Period Sensing (MPS)
USED WITH THE DETECTOR SERIES GPX
Multi Period Sensing Technology
MPS is Minelab's advanced pulse-induction technology. Multiple pulse periods help separate desirable targets from mineralized-ground responses.

Models > >
Dual Voltage Technology (DVT)
USED WITH THE DETECTOR SERIES GPX
DVT - Dual Voltage Tech
DVT uses two voltage levels to enhance pulse-induction performance, ground handling and sensitivity across a wider range of target sizes.

Models > >
SMART ELECTRONIC TIMING ALIGNMENT (SETA)
USED WITH THE DETECTOR SERIES GPX
SETA Minelab Technology
SETA (Smart Electronic Timing Alignment) is a highly sophisticated method for matching timing characteristics with continuous measurements of the surrounding electromagnetic environment, such as the Earth's magnetic field. This improves detector performance by eliminating noise signals. Sensitivity across all timing settings is increased, allowing SETA to detect more gold than other metal detector technologies.

Models > >
Multi-Period Fast (MPF)
USED WITH THE DETECTOR SERIES SDC 2300
MPF Minelab Technology
MPF is a high-speed pulse-induction technology. Rapid transmit and receive cycles improve response and sensitivity to small gold targets.

Models > >
Very Low Frequency (VLF)
USED IN THE PRO FIND DETECTOR SERIES
Low Single Frequency Technology
VLF is a continuous-wave, single-frequency metal-detection technology. It supports effective target identification, although performance depends on frequency, target size and ground mineralization.

Models > >
Ultra-Wide Dynamic Range VLF
USED WITH THE DETECTOR SERIES GOLD MONSTER 1000
Ultra Wide Dynamic Low Single Frequency Technology

Ultra-Wide Dynamic Range VLF operates at 45 kHz and is well suited to detecting small and fine gold. Careful ground balancing may be required in mineralized soil.
