Mineral Liberation Analysis
The purpose of this analysis
Analysis SEM-MLA is used to understand how metals are present in the rock And and at what grind size the metals can be liberated.
This analysis serves as an important link between concentration data (chemical analysis results) and concrete processing decisions.
What SEM-MLA answers
SEM-MLA helps answer questions such as:
-
Is the metal already free or is it still locked in other minerals
-
How fine does the material need to be ground in order for the metal to be released
-
Is the grinding that has been done sufficient or not
What is analyzed
-
The relationship between metals and their binding minerals
-
grain and particle size and the location of the metal
-
The degree of metal liberation at a specific grinding size
(SEM-MLA is a mineralogical analysis, not a grade analysis.)
How the analysis is carried out
-
Samples are specially prepared and polished
-
The analysis is performed using Scanning Electron Microscope with Mineral Liberation Analysis (SEM-MLA)
-
Data is processed to show metal liberation and particle size distribution
Operational information
-
Number of samples: usually ≥ 100 grams
(final requirements depend on particle size, material complexity, and scope of analysis) -
Duration of work: ± 7–14 business days
-
Terms and conditions apply (material type and sample conditions may affect the scope and duration of the analysis)
Cost & sample delivery
-
The analysis fee does not include the cost of sending the sample to us.
-
All costs and risks during shipping are borne by sender's responsibility
Value added services
SEM-MLA more than just laboratory analysis.
Results include practical interpretation by mineral processing expert, to help you understand:
-
Is the problem with the grind size
-
Is the low process yield due to metals not being released
-
Is it necessary to use finer grinding or another process approach
When to choose SEM-MLA
-
If the metal content is already known but the process yield is still low
-
If you want to determine a realistic target grind size
-
If you want to avoid processing strategy errors
SEM-MLA is not used for
-
Determine the level or economic value
-
Replace metallurgical testing
-
Guarantee a specific recovery rate
One-sentence summary
SEM-MLA indicates the grind size at which metal can be released, thereby helping to determine the appropriate processing strategy.
