What's a book?

IAGI stands for Indonesian Geologists' Association, professional organizations that preclude Indonesian geologists from various fields of expertise, including mining geology, mineral exploration, engineering geology, environmental geology, energy geology, and other geological disciplines.

In the mining industry, geologists played a very important role, almost all mining projects started with geological work, starting with field mapping, sample-taking, data interpretation of drilling, geological modeling, to mineral-source estimation, all of which depended on experienced geologist skills.

Thus, IAGI has a strategic role in maintaining the quality and professionalism of geologists working in Indonesia, which is a container for the development of competence through training, seminars, conferences, scientific publications, and other professional activities.

For the mining industry, IAGI is also known for its involvement in the system Competent Person Indonesia (CPI)In reporting the results of exploration and the estimate of mineral resources, it is necessary for professionals to have relevant experiences in the commodity and type of deposit reported. Through a mechanism recognized in the KCMI system, geologists who meet certain requirements can gain recognition of Competent Persons in their field of expertise.

This is very important because investors, companies, finance agencies, and regulators need the belief that the geological information used in decision making has been compiled by professionals who have adequate competence.

The IAGI role is not limited to mining; it also contributes to the development of Earth science, the mitigation of geological disasters, the management of natural resources, energy, environments, and strategic issues related to Indonesian geology.

In the modern mining context, IAGI's existence helps ensure that the professional standards of geology continue to develop in industrial order, along with other professional organizations, the IAGI supports the creation of transparent reporting, are accountable, and are in accord with international practice.

For project owners, investors, and mining companies, understanding the IAGI roles helped explain why relevant geological experiences are a key factor in reporting on the results of exploration, the estimate of resources, and the development of mining projects as a whole.
