Gold: Its Value, Characteristics, and Uses in Various Sectors
Gold is highly valued due to its texture, density, and high melting point, despite being the softest and most malleable metal. Its unique characteristics make it a valuable tool for monetary policy. Approximately 60% of gold production is used for jewelry, 40% for investments, such as central bank reserves to combat inflation or recession, and 10% for industrial purposes. Gold's exceptional ability to conduct heat and electricity has made it useful in industrial equipment, ceramics, and electronic devices.
